Rush Week 2026

It’s Rush Week 2026 – our third annual BTS membership drive!

Rush “Week” is actually a little over two weeks: September 1–13. Any memberships purchased or renewed between September 1 and September 13  will get two bonus months added to their membership.

Every year, our Rush Week has a different theme – but each time we’ll “rush” you like you’re the highly desirable Julia Ray and we’re the Epsilon Iotas (only way friendlier and much less exclusive )

Our theme for 2026 is Building the Betsy-Tacy Pipeline.

Now, what do we mean by that?

We were beyond excited to hit the important milestones of reaching 1,000 members and having a member in every U.S. state. The growth and vitality in BTS membership is palpable and a wonder to behold.

But we on the BTS Board are giving serious thought to the future. Who will pick up the reins when we older folks retire to our rockers? Of our 1,000 members, just a little more than 100 are at the BTT Club and YA levels, and not many of that group “fly up” to the Adult level.

As we pondered the situation, we thought about the various adults in Betsy’s life (and in the lives of our other beloved characters) who served as mentors, role models, and wise friends to her. Betsy was blessed to have so many wonderful folks guiding her as she grew into adulthood. In a similar vein, Julia was an important musical mentor to Tacy, we believe that Joe learned a great deal from observing his father-in-law, and Miss Fowler played a significant role in the lives of both Betsy Ray and Emily Webster. The series is chockfull of examples!

And that’s where you come in. Of course you can renew your own membership and/or give a gift membership to anyone you know – this is the perfect time to do that, and all membership purchases support the Betsy-Tacy Society.

But would you consider channeling Mrs. Poppy, Miss Cobb, et al. by giving a gift membership at the BTT Club, YA, or New Adult level to a young person you know? Or, another option is to purchase a general gift membership at one of those levels and ask us to give it to a young person – we will be delighted to do so!

Our goal is to increase the number of BTT Club and YA members by 90, bringing our total to 200 members at those levels. And as the numbers grow, we’ll fill in the graphic by adding a connecting pipeline from one illustration to another.

Oh, and did you catch that we’ve introduced a new membership level? We wondered if the significant price increase from a $15 YA membership to a $30 Adult membership was one reason we’re losing some of these members, and we decided to make it just a little easier. We now offer a membership level called New Adult for those ages 20–25, and it’s only $25. New Adult members get all the same benefits as Adult and Senior members. (And Adult membership is now for ages 26–61.)

BTS memberships range from $10 to $30 per year, but if that is outside your budget, please let us know – many friends have already donated gift memberships, and we will happily “make the match.”
